My Lighter Collection
I've been fascinated with fire and lighters ever since I was a kid. When I was younger my mom and dad would light incense and I found myself obsessed with watching the lit end of the sticks burn away into smoke and droop. To this day I love candles, I love matches, and most importantly, I love lighters! I have decided to catalogue my current collection as of November 16, 2022.
This is the bag I keep all of my lighters in :)
Here are all but two of my bics! I will give information about notable ones. The first notable one is #2 which was meant for my dad. He was obsessed with pumpkin spice and fall, so I meant to give it to him before he passed away. I know for a fact I purchased it July 7th, which was when he passed away. Next, #4, was traded to me by my nana. She ALSO loves to collect lighters, but she smokes cigarettes. I smoke weed and usually don't carry my lighters with me out of the house unless they're really special. I usually only have 1 on me at a time. #6 is a mini bic I bought because it was really cute. #7 is not a lighter but instead a custom made lighter holder! You insert any bic into it and it has a hemp string that prolongs light time for use with bongs. Other than that, the rest are pretty normal. #11 came with #7 in the mail, and #14 is the one I have been using inside of my holder recently.
Clippers are another popular brand of lighter with smokers, particularly pot smokers. The lighting/strike wheel can be removed to help pack bowls or tamp in bud on cones. They also can be refilled, so they often have very pretty art on them! #1 in this set is one of two I purchased at the same time. There was a matching one that I bought and gave to my mom. #3 and #4 I bought at the same smoke shop, and they are actually normal white clipper lighters inside of silicone/rubber cases.
Most of these lighters, aside from #1 and #2 are actually unique from eachother. #4 was for sure bought at a dollar tree. #6, #7, and #8 were all picked up off the ground when I would used to skip classes in high school. I would never keep any of these lighters around kids as none of them have strike safeties or use button lighting systems which are really easy to use. Even with my carpal tunnel it takes very little effort to light those.
All of these lighters aside from #1 have been regular carries at some point. #2 and #3 are zippos, meaning that I have to manually fil lthem for them to carry flames. All of the guts inside of them are replaceable and I usually just keep them as display pieces because they're a bit more effort to fill and maintain. #4 is the same style as #5 - #9, but I think the design is a bit cooler because it takes up the entire face of the body and lid. I still think I like #5 and #7 the best out of the bottom row because of the different coloured lids vs. bodies.
